Little Moments in Japan is a series of paintings capturing some small daily scenes during my Japan trip in mid-2023. Compared to my other paintings, which focus on wide-angle scenes, this special series is all about little objects, close observations and first-person perspectives. These paintings also feature some small animals in the scenes, including a ladybug, a butterfly, a turtle and a gecko.
I hope I can bring your attention to look at the random daily objects, to discover the beauty of small things in life. Such as the vivid glowing blue of the hydrangeas on a gloomy cloudy day, the nostalgic red-brown rust on an electricity meter box, the pink flowers growing on an old tree, and the subtle highlights and reflections on a teacup.
